My artistic practice explores themes of displacement, the search for identity, and the challenge of stereotypes related to sexual identity and diaspora expectations. I strive to capture the unconscious movements of my subjects, creating scenes that stand independently like frames from a movie. Through the deliberate choice of models in my images, I explore aspects of myself through their depictions. My greatest treasures are the things that people often consider trash. The materials I find—often recycled or repurposed—provide opportunities for both failure and new beginnings. I want the recycled materials I use to retain their value, adding an extra dimension to the work.
