Sarah Kazmi (f.1990 Pakistan, hun/henne) er en interdisiplinær kunstner og forfatter som bor og arbeider i Oslo og Karachi. Hennes kunstneriske praksis beveger seg på tvers av forskning og visuell produksjon, og observerer forholdet mellom mat, språk og politikk, ofte i tilknytning til og sammen med lokalsamfunn og -miljøer. Hun jobber tekstuelt, hvor stilen hennes er visuell, rytmisk og performativ, og ofte formidlet i kombinasjon med lyd, video, installasjoner og performance.
Siden 2021 har hun vært et aktivt medlem av Verdensrommet, et kunstnerdrevet støttenettverk av og for kreative fagpersoner utenfor EU/EØS med base i Norge, hvor hun bidrar i stor grad med påvirkningsarbeid.
I 2019 ble Kazmi uteksaminert fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo med en MA i kunst og offentlig rom. I 2021 ble hun valgt ut til å delta i RAW Académie Session 8, ‘Tour de Table’, i Dakar, Senegal, og i 2023 ble arbeidet hennes omtalt i ‘Ocean Eyes’, den 7. utgaven av Coast Contemporary, kuratert av Valentinas Klimašauskas i Lofoten, Norge. I 2024 deltok hun i ‘Reading Ocean Imprints’-workshop ledet av Cooking Sections ved Foundation Botin, Spania; ved siden av separatutstillingen på Interkulturelt museum i Oslo, deltok hun i et gruppeutstilling Chronoplasticity på Raven Row, London. Arbeidene hennes ble nylig anskaffet av Oslo kommunes kunstsamling og er for tiden mottaker av det 2-årige gratis studioprogrammet ved Atelier Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo.

Jeg deler mer enn gjerne mitt kommende prosjekt/forskning om norsk og samisk innvandring til Nord-Amerika med dere. Jeg er nysgjerrig på å lære av deg om du har noen spor, familiehistorie, slektninger i USA eller verdifull kunnskap som prosjektet mitt kan dra nytte av? Det blir te, og litt snacks.
