Dimitri Lurie

Film artist and photographer Dimitri Lurie was born in Leningrad (USSR) in 1970 and has lived and worked in Oslo since 1998.

Lurie is a graduate from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University and the Institute of Theology and Philosophy.
After moving to Norway, Dimitri has been a guest artist at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo and worked as the head of the film department at the OFKS – Oslo School of Photography.

As a filmmaker, he is behind a number of experimental, documentary and short films.

Lurie’s artworks have been shown around the world at various international art exhibitions and film festivals where they have won a number of prestigious awards.

Dimitri is also the creator and curator of an international project “Cultural Transit”.

Member of the artistic professional organizations NBK, BOA and BONO.
