The starting point for my artistic work is painting. I have always been concerned with the materiality of the painting and have therefore examined various materials to work with. My sculptural paintings consist of building blocks of different sizes that are glued together in several layers. I have previously worked with styrofoam. At the moment I work with pieces of colored mdf glued together to form compact objects. My works are based on simple forms in an often playful expression. Sometimes I try to clarify a void, a trivial, present and mental void that can constitute a new beginning for further fabulation.

For the past two years, I have collaborated with Mariken Kramer on exhibition projects at Heimdal and Sandefjord Art Association. The direction of the exhibitions became the relationship and references we both have to the three-dimensional and the interaction between what touches our individual starting points within the camera-based and painting. We worked in large and small formats and played our way through formal, spatial and conceptual issues.
