26—27 April

Eunju Kang

(She/her)
Address: Oslo Open, Rådhusgata 19, 0158 Oslo
Floor: 1.
The studio is open Sunday 28 April from 12-17

I work within a broad range of media – sculptures, installations, ceramics, drawings, and short films, applying multi-faceted materials and techniques to convey the stories they relate. My source of inspiration comes from personal experiences such as childhood memories, a fondness of folk art and culture, and a mindful observation of my surroundings.

Recurring themes in my work are humanity’s relationship to art and spirituality, an evolving sense of community in craftsmanship, and the direct experience in the act of making. Repetitive rhythmic patterns have long been a main aesthetic concept in my work. In daily practice, I explore artistic qualities of these central fascinations by involving place, aesthetics and knowledge of materials and techniques.
