Ethical guidelines and procedures for reporting incidents

We work to ensure that Oslo Open is a safe event for employees, volunteers, and the public. Oslo Open has adopted ethical guidelines and established procedures for reporting and following up on unacceptable situations and unwanted incidents, such as racism, discrimination, sexual harassment, and other forms of harassment.

Ethical guidelines

Anyone who experiences unacceptable conditions or unpleasant incidents while working for Oslo Open is encouraged to report this. We strive for a positive feedback culture and aim for a low threshold for reporting anything that may feel inappropriate, uncomfortable, or unacceptable.

At Oslo Open, we expect everyone to:

  • Be aware of power dynamics and the risk factors for power abuse. We are familiar with what constitutes sexual harassment and discrimination, and we actively avoid overstepping others’ boundaries.
  • Be conscious of role understanding, power, and boundaries when working with others. Each employee must exercise caution to avoid misusing any power they hold.

How to report an incident

You may submit a report in writing or verbally to one of the following reporting contacts:
Director. Frida Rusnak: frida.rusnak@osloopen.no
Chair of the board, Katinka Maraz: styreleder@osloopen.no
All reports are treated confidentially.

Additional resources

Oslo Open is a member of the organisation Norwegian Live, which works to strengthen cultural event organisers and improve working conditions within the cultural industry, as well as the association Balansekunst, which promotes a safer, more diverse, and equal cultural sector. As part of their networks, we gain access to expertise and guidance on accessible, inclusive and safe events, as well as on creating better working conditions for employees and volunteers.

Balansekunst operates the Legal Advise Helpline, a free, low-threshold service for anyone who have experienced, witnessed, or have questions about discrimination, sexual harassment, or abuse of power in the cultural sector. The helpline offers legal advice, and the caller can remain anonymous.
