Hi, I’m looking forward to Oslo Open this year and hope many people find their way to Ekely, where I live with many other artists. There are 44 houses + studios here. The studio Edvard Munch used to work in stands large and solid like a heart/solid building in the area. Oslo Open is also taking place there, this year. I’ve lived at Jarlsborgveien 48 for a little over 30 years and lately I’ve been in the process of decluttering. The exciting thing about decluttering for me is that many things/ideas/photos/texts/materials/unfinished sculptures and drawings, to name a few, resurface. Some things are replaced/catalogued, so that I know where they are. Other things I continue to work on, some sculptures need a “makeover” and some things I throw away or give away. I experience decluttering as a kind of cleansing/cleaning that I was more than ready for. I notice that ideas come and go as I clean and go through the process. I am looking forward to show those of you who come to visit Ekely at the end of April, what has emerged/developed from this process.
