Mitra Shamloo is a visual artist from Tehran, Iran, based in Oslo, Norway. She’s currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Art and Craft at Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO). Her work has been shown in exhibitions and art festivals both nationally and internationally, and her pieces are part of private collections.
Mitra works with jewelry, objects, and installations, using different materials and techniques to share stories inspired by the legends and history of her homeland. Her experience of migration has a big influence on her art, blending cultural traditions with personal reflections on change and transformation.
Using techniques such as forging, forming, welding, and texturing, Mitra creates works that layer textures and meanings, balancing history with a contemporary edge. Her pieces invite others to connect with shared experiences of resilience, change, and renewal.
