As an artist, I ask myself: Who am I to decide how a form should be? Life is complex, and much of it must simply be accepted as it is, beyond our control. I do not seek to dictate form but to let it emerge through negotiation. By working with discarded wood and residual materials, I aim to preserve the stories embedded within them. My practice seeks to contribute to a world where forms arise collaboratively, without conflict with their surroundings. I stand at the intersection of art, craft, and design, exploring the balance between creation and acceptance.

furniture sculpture

Stool made of many wood pieces, blackened and burned, a chaotic construction with a flat surface forming a mosaic of wood pieces.

Round birch plywood tabletop, wood-colored, with three irregular ash legs, burned and blackened. The brushed legs reveal the wood's texture.

Gray background, chaos of twigs, mostly painted white, partially unpainted. The unpainted sections of the twigs form a line drawing of a chair.

In my studio

My studio is a woodworking workshop. I will showcase furniture and sculptures, both finished pieces and works in progress. I will also demonstrate my working methods, including classic cabinetmaking techniques, traditional carving methods, and techniques I have developed myself. I look forward to presenting and discussing my work, exploring questions about materiality and form-finding – or simply having a chat.

Planned projects and exhibitions

I am a recent graduate and am currently working on spelling out the design language I have cultivated throughout my studies. I am working on two series: one focused on functional furniture made from solid wood sourced from trees felled in the city, and another focused on using wood waste that I find throughout Oslo.
My next planned exhibition will be during Designer’s Saturday 2025.
