Henrik Nordahl (b.1992, Oslo) is a multidisciplinary artist who recently moved home from New York after completing a Master’s in Fine Arts in 2023 from Parsons School of Design. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design & Illustration from the Oslo Academy of Arts, where he graduated in 2017.

In the summer of 2024, he had his first international solo exhibition ‘When The Day Is Done’ in New York at Trygve Lie Gallery. In April 2025, he is currently having a solo exhibition at Tad Galleri in Oslo. In 2021, he organized his first solo exhibition ‘Heavy Metal’ in Oslo Taxi’s garage facility at Carl Berner in Oslo.

He has also participated in several group exhibitions both at home and abroad, ‘There Is Only After’ in Gallery MC, New York, ‘Babylon Fading’ in Parasol Projects, New York, ‘Matter As Fallen Light’ in Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery, New York and ‘Industrial Experimental’ in Tad Gallery, Oslo.
He has held two artist residencies at 99 CANAL in New York and Sitka – Center for Art & Ecology in Oregon, USA.

Nordahl’s work ranges between sculpture, installation and 2-dimensional works and varies as much in form and expression as in the use of materials. He takes his starting point from the surroundings in which he moves – the urban, industrial landscape and nature. Here he finds and processes objects, materials and impressions that he describes as moments where the world ‘flickers’ – fleeting and fluttering glimpses in the landscape of a familial kinship between man and the material world.

In my studio

During OsloOpen I have a solo exhibition at Tad Galleri where you can come and experience my works, and where I will be present myself.

The exhibition consists of a series of 7 large abstract sculptures and 10 large abstract motifs. The works draws inspiration from universal principles found in nature: the concept of repeating one form in different compositions that generate an organic architecture. The works are a result of imitating biosemiotic mechanisms found in our surroundings, in an attempt to decode and open up the possibilities of interpreting nature’s own visual language.

Planned projects and exhibitions
