Sculptor Julia Vance seemingly bends stone in her sensual sculptures. In her studio in Oslo and Tuscany, she carves elegantly twisting planes and cavities in both marble and granite. With simple yet powerful reduction of form her work bridges between classical sculpture and conceptual expression, often suggesting philosophical considerations for existential words and symbols.
