Julia K. Persson (born 1992, SE) has an MFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and a BA from Lund School of Architecture. Her works revolve around sculptures and installations, primarily made of clay, ceramics, and textiles. Through abstract and figurative forms, she explores constructions; in our built environments, but also in our ideas and thoughts. It is often when something goes wrong, breaks, or comes to an end that her interest grows, and the work begins. By working with clay in its various stages, from wet to fired, Persson explores what the different materialities can carry and express.
Persson has exhibited at, among other places, Rackstadmuseet, Höganäs Konsthall, and QB Gallery, and has participated in several group exhibitions, such as ROM for Kunst og Arkitektur, Kunstnerforbundet, and London Craft Week.
