Addae’s practice explores redemption and the crisis of everyday materials.
His works are usually made from “discarded bodies” (used clothing). Critical to his practice is the collaborative process by which he collects, remakes and installs the “discarded bodies” involving people from every age group and cultural background, capturing almost everyone as culprits in the crisis. His artworks, characterized by colorful squeezed “anonymous bodies” rebirth the experiences and emotions of its former wearers. His works invite other bodies (viewers) to reflect on how circumstances influence questions of value and the distractive nature of uncontrolled desires.
