(She/her)
Address: Romsås senter 1, Romsås senter 1, 0970 Oslo
Floor: 6
Room number: ?
The studio is open Saturday 26 April from 12-17

Siv Bugge Vatne works with installations of sculptures and drawings inspired by contradictory directions, such as Mono-ha and outsider art. Her wood and stone sculptures are made with grinders, chisels and pneumatic tools. Since 2018 her work has involved studies of a 600 years old mystery called the Voynich manuscript. The manuscript contains unique botanical drawings and a coded text in an unknown language. It is a background for her interest in exploring materials and words in her installations.

Siv Bugge Vatne is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Molde (1975), at the north-west coast of Norway. She is educated at Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam). Her works are represented in collections like KUBE, Punkt Ø and the Swedish Art Council, and have been exhibited at galleries such Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, Nils Aas Kunstverksted, Kunstnerforbundet, the National Museum of Art, and Dimensions Variable (Miami).
