26—27 April

Ina Eriksen

(She/her)
Address: Parkveien 27A, 0350 Oslo
The studio is open Sunday 27 April from 12-17

Ina Eriksen combines the performative and choreographic with techniques such as drawing and installation in a poetic language. Several of the projects arise from the meeting between folklore and visual arts, dance and music, text and drawing. She has previously used planes and flight themes in her works. The works emphasize beauty and poetry in the surroundings, and she often seeks risk. She started Oslo Tango in 2010 and has since then been a professional performer and instructor in the Argentinean dance Tango. Tango has been the starting point for several installations and performances.

In the 90s, Eriksen was also a member of the performance group Eriksen / Fremme / Færøy / Jørgensen who explored the gap between social norms, identity, femininity and expressiveness.

Public assignments / competitions

2011 “Sky Safari” was hand-picked by KORO’s art committee which consisted of Marianne Heier and Ole John Aandal to decorate the Civil Aviation Authority’s new signal building in Bodø. The work, which consists of a performance in the form of a poetic air show choreographed to the place-specific landscape and a commissioned work by the northern Norwegian musician Geir Jenssen (Biosphere), where photographs of the aircraft’s dance by Christina Leithe were to be traced to the performance, was finally stopped by Luftfartstilsynet because they were in a legal conflict in their relationship between responsibility and risk, which ironically was a theme in the work, the decoration was therefore not realized.
