I´m an artist educated in Bergen, Gothenburg, Oslo and Aarhus, work with installation, moving image, sound, drawing and textile. In my projects, I draw froming historical, legislative and statistical data. I’m interested in how popular culture and mass media affect populations, subjects, and our legislation. Quotation, humour, and pedagogy are important for the way I work. My background at large is in critique, publishing, and running a gallery. I am a member in the artist group Rose Hammer.

Installation, video, drawing

Eight sculptures ordered in two rows serves as models depicting factory buildings from the 1930ies. In the middle of the two rows, there is a red, woolen banner with gold tassels. A video is projected on the banner, showing archival footage from a textile factory. On two of the building models, there are video projections showing news facsimiles describing the shutdown of textile industry after Norway joined EFTA in the early 1980ies. Smoke billows from a chimney on one of the models.

In my studio

Visitors are most welcome to visit our self-organized studio collective in the city centre. Our collective currently houses 14 young artists. Here, we arrange communal dinners, drawing evenings, and group critiques. In my studio, I will present parts of my portfolio, as well as projects I’m currently working on. Refreshments, pleasant studio mates and great views over Grønland guaranteed.
