(She/her)
Address: Hasleveien 38, 0571 Oslo
Floor: 3. etasje
Room number: 3
The studio is open Saturday 27 April from 12-17
I work with image archives as a starting point for various forms of representing, processing and combining motifs, mainly drawing, print and collage. The photographs I use consist of both personal and found ones, taken from e.g. books, historical archives, popular culture and the internet.
The process of gathering and selecting images I do continuously, either by seeing images through media or by researching subjects I am interested in. This may, for example, concern parts of world history or more current societal questions and events. The photographs I take myself often show my close, everyday surroundings.
I am concerned with how we associate in the form of images, and how they are connected to collective and subjective meanings. By taking the images out of their context, reworking them and placing them in new sequences and narratives, I try to blur the distinction between cultural affiliation and between the personal and found.
