26—27 April

Alf Christian Hvaring

(He/him)
Address: Sagene Kunstsmie, Drøbakgata 1, 0463 Oslo
Floor: 2.
The studio is open Sunday 28 April from 12-17

My work is performed in a figurative storytelling, but includes abstract elements.
The motives are presented through the ability of snapshot aesthetics to capture coincidences and show people in different situations. The pictures are frozen moments from stories we do not know, but are open to further poetry. The people on the pictures are made anonymous. They hide things, lean into abstractions, have white faces or read in empty books. Elements can stand in the way of seeing who they are phakic, where the stories are from, or where they are going. The motives are displayed, but the origin is covered, so the spectator himself must define the story.
The people appear in context that emphasizes the absurdity of existence and suggests a sentimentality, irony, or humor to everyday questions about our existence.
