Henrik Nordahl (b.1992, Oslo) is a multidisciplinary artist who has lived and studied in New York for the past 2 years. He completed his master’s in Fine Arts in 2023 from Parsons School of Design, and also has a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design & Illustration from the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 2017.

He had his first solo exhibition (Heavy Metal) in 2021, which he himself organized and curated in Oslo Taxi’s garage facility at Carl Berner in Oslo. Since graduating from Parsons, he has received a Scholarship for Newly Graduated Artists from the Directorate for Arts and Culture Norway and participated in the group exhibition There Is Only After at Gallery MC, New York. He has held two artist residencies: 99 CANAL in New York, and Sitka – Center for Art & Ecology in Oregon, USA.

Nordahl’s work ranges between sculpture, installation and 2-dimensional works and varies as much in form and expression as in the use of materials. He investigates the surroundings in which he moves; the urban, industrial landscape and the natural world. Here he finds and processes objects, materials and impressions that he describes as moments where the world ‘glimmers’ – fleeting and fluttering glimpses in the landscape that tell a tale of familial kinship between humans and the material world.

In my studio

Our studio consists of a diverse group of creative practitioners, including a musician, a filmmaker, an artist and a former professor from the College of Arts and Crafts. This offers a collection of varied content, both academically, but not least in forms of expression.

There will be musical performances from our musician friends, an exhibition of sculpture and painting, as well as room for pleasant conversations and simple serving of coffee. We are based in a large, bright studio at Carl Berners Plass with the possibility of parking, if you arrive via the end of Tromsøgata, up the driveway of Oslo Taxi.
