In my studio
My studio is located in the old crematorium at Vestre gravlund, exactly where the crematorium oven was. Among other things, I work with mirrors. I remove parts of the mirror from the back of the mirror, so the glass and mirror are on the same surface. Lined up against each other, a complex situation is created where foreground and background and you are mixed together. The eyes and the brain try to create order in these layers, but the moment you understand it, you realize that you are wrong. It is a precise and time-consuming process where the working tool is razor blades. I also work with sculpture of flowers, and I have made my own tombstone. For many years, my money-making job has been making wafers for communion. So I’m happy to have a studio in the western cemetery, it feels like being in the right place.
