26—27 April

Ingrid Bjørnaali

(She/her)
Address: Montebello Kulturhus, Noreveien 24, 0379 Oslo
Floor: 5
The studio is open Sunday 28 April from 12-17

I am a multidisciplinary artist mainly working with video, sculpture, text and live performances. I received an MFA from the Oslo National Academy of Fine Art in 2021, and spent parts of my studies on exchange in Helsinki at the Taideyliopiston Kuvataideakatemia, delving deeper into the Finnish video universe in the department “Time and Space Arts”. In my practice, I record specific biotopes in various states of their ongoing world-building processes. I am is interested in ways of learning from- and interpreting our surrounding nature and co-existing species in intimate close-up readings through e.g. photogrammetry that relates to satellite mapping and mediation of anthropocentric spaces and monuments. My works explore the omnipresence of the digital in our experience of the world, inquiring into the way it alters our scopic regimes, as well as the inability of technology to adequately articulate the complexity of matter. Works have been exhibited in i.a. Toronto, Helsinki, Berlin, Milano, Zagreb, Reykjavik, Riga and Timișoara.
