I take the bus from Torshov to Ullevål hospital.
I wander around the area and am overwhelmed by what I see. I’m going to draw, I have a pad and pencil, but I don’t know what to draw. I look at the old buildings. Buildings that are richly decorated, something you don’t see in new buildings. Actually, I’m someone who loves to wander around the city and draw buildings, but this is something entirely on its own. I can also choose to draw trees, all kinds of trees. And all the people I see then, I also want to draw them. This has become a series of woodcuts that I want to show to influence that Ullevål Hospital should be preserved.

In my studio

Visits to my studio, I think, can be aimed especially at young people, they can try carving woodcuts themselves.I will show some of my woodcut prints and I will show how I make woodcuts by demonstrating myself. I will show the wooden plates and show how I make prints from the woodcut plates. I have a high-pressure press in the studio so I can demonstrate. At the same time, the audience can get a small plate to cut a little themselves and have it printed. For example, cut your initials or something else, and see them in print. I have room for about 5 people at a time so each one can practice
woodcutprint.

Planned projects and exhibitions

I will have an exhibition in Galleri Sagene Kunstsmie in the period from 23 May to 9 June 2024. The title of the exhibition is: “Save the earth, the animals and Ullevål Hospital”. The exhibition opening is Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m.
I show large woodcuts of animals and woodcuts from Ullevål Hospital. I have wandered around the Ullevål Hospital area and drawn buildings, decorations and people which I show in the woodcut technique. I will also display some woodcut plates to show what they look like.
