Ole Petter Ribe (b. 1995, Bærum) works with sculpture, installation, performance and text.
From the establishment of indie-publisher Lille Vesle Forlag (est. 2019) with a focus on gothic children´s poetry, to part of the myth-inspired performance collective Vadmelsbanden (est. 2019), Ribe´s practice range from hate letters in book form to staged church fires.
By treating major societal traumas in an apparently parodic way – be it through genre, odd references or pure provocation – he wants to reach a grave reflection on the collective process of grief.

In my studio
My studio currently functions as an animation studio, for the completion of a larger film project from Vadmelsbanden. I invite you in for mulled wine and soup, and show excerpts from the film, as well as a number of smaller sculptures under animation. There will also be sales of publications from Lille Vesle Forlag.
