As a ceramic artist, I am interested in how clay can impact sculptural expressions. The sculptures often appear as traces of human(-like) form. The topic for my doctoral thesis is haptic comprehension of form based on an exploration of the grip as core, structure, and movements. “Bergtatt” and “Into the grip and outwards in loops” (portfolio) are examples of the continuation of my research. The sculptures are also examples of techniques that emphasize plasticity in clay. Sand modeling is used as a finely tuned tool to freeze the clay’s inherent movements. The pulling method allows for dynamic lines in spatial forms.
