I am a figurative painter, educated at The National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, and The Russian Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Lives and works in Oslo, and have my studio in an allotment garden. Observation is the starting point of my painting. I use what I have available around me, friends or family, and organic material/objects from the garden. I am interested in basic pictorial elements such as light and shadow, colour relationship, flatness and space.

Painting Drawing

In my studio

My studio is a painter’s studio filled with equipment, painting materials, sketches, old work and half finished paintings, organic material from the garden and other items that I have kept because I am thinking I might be painting them. Also visitors can take a look at the allotment with it’s garden, greenhouse and lighthouse.
