Karianne Stensland lives and works in Oslo. She holds a MFA from Trondheim Academy of Fine Art and has studied acting at Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in
St. Petersburg. Her work comprises text, drawing, music and sculpture, often presented through video, performance and installations.
Stensland was a member of the Scandinavian art group High Heel Sisters (2002-2005), and one of the initiators behind Marienborg project space and studio collective in Trondheim (2005-2010). In the past years she has participating in Høstutstillingen (2024), the opening exhibition at the National Museum of Norway (2022), soloexhibitions at Møre og Romsdal Kunstsenter (2022), Kunstbanken, Hedmark (2020).
Stensland was one of the selected artist in the studio programme at Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo (2020-2023).
