Anne Karin Jortveit

I work mainly three-dimensionally and with textile. Through simple techniques and manual methods, like hand-spinning, weaving and natural dyeing, I often focus on something overlooked and vulnerable in the relationship between humans and nature. In my work, this is first and foremost expressed through the poetical, metaphorical, and emotional. Although I do not always go into specific environmental themes, the art process still provides opportunities to reflect on value choices. For me, art becomes a place to be, a place to think from that embraces both aesthetics and ethics.
