Kryhlmann works interdisciplinary with visual art, text, sound and image in complex installations. Ecocentrism is a central theme, which is explored through extended empathy, also in relation to (deep) time. This is done by interacting with the environment through treating materials with respect for their respective processes. She does this by attempting to work in sync with the natural cycles rather than against them, resulting in works that are fragile and impermanent, made with the intention of disintegrating.
The artistic process involves bodily experience, field visits and background research where the materials’ ecosystem, processes and history are examined.
