Alejandra Aguilar Caballero (Mexico City, 1989) is a Mexican visual artist based in Oslo, Norway. Her artistic practice moves freely between drawing, graphic narrative, printmaking, installation, and artist´s books.
She likes to think of her work as a safe place to play with narrative by exploring personal and collective memory, identity, unexpected encounters with nature, and the stories of her everyday life. Through drawing, she establishes deep connections between memory, symbols, myths, social patterns, and behaviours to create a personal imagery: an exploration of the past and the present in an ever-changing context.
Her work is influenced by a strong drive to redefine the narratives that constitute our reality. She creates fictions full of mystery, hope and empowerment, that are at the same time so fanstastic and other-worldly they seem out of reach, yet through their materiality they become an intimate and magical presence.

In my studio
In my studio I work with different printmaking processes that are interesting for both people in and out of the art world. I will display my drawings, prints, and artist´s books.
Planned projects and exhibitions
I am currently developing my project “A Light Shines Somewhere”. A series of relief prints/monotypes installed inside light boxes.
I am also working on my next artist books “A Story” and “Shadowplay”.
I will have a solo exhibition in October 2025 at Galleri Hadeland in Rygge.
