Sabina Jacobsson is a filmmaker and visual artist who uses moving images, in addition to photography, drawings and objects. She also works with scenography and projection design for stagart productions. The main content of her work reflects cultural connections and social structures. She stages stories of cultural solidarity alongside political issues. She is looking for new links between idea and technique where the spontaneous and unpredictable play together with the conceptual. With this as a starting point, she creates playful and thoughtful works.
Jacobsson has been presented in a number of venues, including Brandts Museum for Photography (Denmark), Nikolaj Kunthall (Denmark), Luleå Konshall (Sweden), Sandefjord Kunstforening (Norway), Kortfilmfestivalen Grimstad (Norway), Mixbrasil Filmfestival (Brazil), Shortdocs Fredrikstad Norway .
Through several projects with artistic collaboration, she has had the opportunity to work with different expressions, on stage as well as in the gallery space and for the cinema, which has resulted in her multifaceted expression. She graduated from the Art Academy in Trondheim Norway in 2000. Jacobsson received a guaranteed income for artists from the Norwegian government in 2012.
