Hamid Waheed is a filmmaker and artist who uses the medium of film, as well as writing and performance. The works highlight the use of characters and dramaturgy in an expanded sense. Desire and queerness are the basis for exploring political, psychosocial conditions, as well as speculative acts about time, intimacy and violence. He also explores how the production of histories in various media and archives.

Works have been shown in a number of places, including at the Museum of Cultural History, Fotogalleriet and Kunstnernes Hus (Oslo); METEOR international Theatre Festival and KODE (Bergen), Open Out Festival and Tromsø Kunstforening (Tromsø); Nikolaj Kunsthal and Den Frie Udstillingbygning (Copenhagen); Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin. In 2020, he won the Critic Prize during Nord-Norsken and in 2022 was one of three nominees for the Blix award. Waheed is also part of the art collective HÆRK.
