26—27 April

Marianne Karlsen

(She/her)
Address: Studio GSF, St. Halvards gate 4, 0192 Oslo
Floor: 1
The studio is open Saturday 26 April from 12-17

I share studio with artist Iris Korsnes and we would like to make an Exhibition in the gallery connected to our studio. We are also going to keep the studio open for the public so they can se the process and material we’re working with.
I work with several printmaking techniques, both gravure and relief, and have a lot of experience with the technique collagraph. This is a process in which materials and structure are applied to a surface, preferably cardboard or plexiglass. No acid baths or other chemical agents are used to achieve stroke, structure and light/shadow. I have worked with several themes and experiment with form, shadow, blind drawing, and based on motifs around me with proximity to materials.
I have long experience with workshops within variation of techniques, both children and for adults. I teach printmaking courses for Art Schools, DTK Kunsfagskolen and at Einar Granum Kunstfagskole, Kunst i Skolen and Norwegian Printmakers. I studied in both England and Norway, and a member of Norwegian Printmakers.
