Over several years, I have worked with outdoor installations connected to listed buildings, museums and older buildings. The last one was at the church ruins in Maridalen, and this was the first time the outdoor project was mounted independently. The viewing period was from 14 May to 31 August 2023.
Horizontal and vertical braids and weaves are tied together. The drawn line of the paper in the sketches and the motif in the photo make up the “company” that gives the “Gray queen” a landscape to inhabit. The roughness of the thread and the fragility of paper accentuates one another.
“The sound of a tree” is a collaborative project outdoors in Botanisk Hage Oslo, which will be displayed from 1 June – 31 August, summer 2025. Participating artists are textile artist Brynhild Slaatto, visual artist Mona Grønnstad and botanist Anders Often, who will hold several botanical walks in the garden. Brynhild Slaatto will show a larger installation consisting of several panels based on the technique: waffle weave. It is a double-sided technique with a depth effect.
