Floor: 1
Room number: -
The studio is open Sunday 27 April from 12-17

I have my education from several countries. From Reykjavik, Oslo and New York. I was fortunate to receive a solid introduction to form and space with modelling at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry under the sculptor and instructor Eilif Mikkelsen. This laid the groundwork for further studies at the Academy (Ref. Åse Markussen’s book Akademiet gjennom 100 år). In New York I was given a scholarship and completed my Masters degree – before these degrees were incorporated by Norwegian colleges and universities as part of the country’s internationalization of educational frameworks.

Clay and drawing are the pillars of my work. What I find most gratifying as a sculptor is making portraits – as a visual artist I am intrigued by the spontaneous and intuitive stroke of a brush or pen.
