I work with installation, sculpture, drawing, text, and performance. I explore the significance of work, both historically and as a criterion for social recognition. I am particularly interested in women’s working lives and it´s connection to the healthcare sector. Therefore, my works often refer to a magical way of viewing the world that preceded the witch hunts of the late Middle Ages. At the same time, I explore whether past worldviews and knowledge can be repurposed to create reconnections between humans, bodies and the environment. I draw inspiration freely from archival material, folk traditions and stories from my own family. In recent years I have focused on creating site-specific and cross-disciplinary projects that move both in and outside traditional gallery spaces. Here, I translate my investigations of working life, social communities, and the significance of places into tangible experiences, often in collaboration with dancers, musicians, and performance artists.
