The sculpture "The Blackbird's Conversation with Silence" (2024) is a visual processing of sound images from my nearby forest, where birdsong and silence are constantly mixed with the sound of forest machines. This kinetic sculpture series consists of milled Plexiglas with digital printing. The sculpture's basic shape is taken from a circular saw. Mechanical and organic forms unite in a figure based on mixed soundscapes in the forest. The bird-inspired pattern is dynamic, and by combining patterns, an interference effect occurs, similar to what happens with the skimmer effect in the birds' plumage. The result is that the works are animated – they change as you move in the room.

Planned projects and exhibitions

In 2025, I look forward to continuing to work with sculptural objects where I explore kinetics as a tool. I’m also looking forward to two months in the Edward Munch Foundation’s printmaking workshop at Ekely, and to showing my projects at KunstaRena at Rena and Nova Hutha in
Fredrikstad.
