I seek diversity in my expressions, a rich polyphony of voices.
There is a constant striving for change and renewal, both in formal language and in the conceptual and emotional aspects of the narratives I wish to convey.
I am open to assimilating modern and postmodern modes of expression in my work by drawing from personal experiences and challenges. This encompasses both figuration and abstraction.
In recent years, I have been working on large canvas formats. The surfaces are built layer upon layer. The layers in this project consist of charcoal drawing and acrylic paint. The work process is slow and time-consuming. There is an element of randomness in how I start working. Where lines and shapes meet is difficult to predict. Then begins a more precise planning of the message I want to convey. Elements, figures, symbols for the chosen theme are moved around until I find the right place/form. Themes often revolve around what occupies me in the moment/the contemporary era.
