Onė Austėja Maldonytė
(She/her)
Address: Tiger keramikk, Thorvald Mayers gate 45, 0555 Oslo
Floor: 1
The studio is open Saturday 26 April from 12-17
Onė Austėja Maldonytė is a practice-based researcher. Her main material is ceramics. During the working process, she carefully studies and follows the behaviour and nature of the clay and firings that lead to unexpected expressions, and final forms. The core of her practice is to continually reconstruct the body of work in dialogue with the site-sensitive installations. Most recently she seeks connections between history and the present, fact, and fiction.

Planned projects and exhibitions
Within the framework of Tiger Keramikk, our studio space will serve as a site for a collaborative exhibition during Oslo Open, realized in conjunction with Hågen Gade. This presentation explores the confluence of ceramic practice, light design, and botanical elements.
The exhibition will investigate the interplay between these distinct media, examining how their juxtaposition can generate new aesthetic and conceptual dialogues. We will be in the studio throughout the event, offering visitors insight into our creative processes.
We will hold demonstrations focusing on the manipulation of clay as a material will be conducted, illustrating the technical methodologies employed in creating the exhibited works. These demonstrations will provide a tangible understanding of the material processes underpinning the artistic outcomes.
This collaborative endeavor seeks to foster an understanding of the material and conceptual considerations inherent in contemporary craft practices.
