Hasan, Sayed

Sayed Sattar Hasan is a British born artist and Goldsmiths graduate and is based in Oslo, Norway. His practice is process-based and freely uses different mediums, from lens-based media to sculptural installation to communicate his ideas. Hasan’s work explores notions of tradition, heritage and belonging and how they are continually subject to change, which is influenced by his ethnically and culturally mixed background.

The narratives Hasan develops are often autobiographical which reflect personal relationships, to people, place and belief systems. The purpose of his practice is to express the fragility, humour and complexity of everyday life and question conventional wisdom.
