Roghieh A. Torvund

Through my work, I convey experiences from my two worlds, the one I come from and the one I live in – Iran and Norway. I want to explore random moments that offer stories and that give life meaning. I want to convey the reality I observe and understand it closer. To turn around and see – use the power of realism to see and to remind others to see.
In my artistic work, I have worked alternately with different expressions, from performance and video to drawing, painting and sculpture.

Planned projects and exhibitions

I have been invited to exhibit a video at the ‘Opening exhibition of the National Museum in 2022. The title of the exhibition is’ I call it art’.

I lot of recordings from travels in my two worlds – Iran and Norway, which I will continue to work on in the future. I am very interested in the enormous contrasts both human and in landscape, challenges, nuances and similarities that exist and that shape the visual image in an extremely globalized world.

Over the next few years, I will develop my painting and drawing skills through my video recordings to test the intersection of these media. How the distinctive features and forms of expression of these arts can interact with each other and contribute to changes in both, changes that would not have occurred if I had worked only with a particular art form.
