Svenson Paus, Tonje

I work primarily with porcelain and I am interested in the spontaneous, comic and sometimes grotesque and vulgar sides of life. My work is a result of a very time-consuming and thorough process. I enjoy working controlled, with detailed surfaces and forms. The craft is clue. It is the contradictory that appeals to me, between the instinctive, savage and the tamed, sophisticated.

I work mainly with functional objects as they give me a closeness to people’s daily life that I enjoy.
