Hess, Per

Installation, sound, neon lights, 2D, 3D

My newer works with light, color and neon technology focus on how light becomes visible and color occurs when light hits matter. Light is invisible in rooms with absence of matter.
Our thoughts are also invisible until they are translated into matter, such as writing or physical objects. This puts light and thought in a context that is conscious through the conceptual.
Communication, economics and ecology are in today’s and tomorrow’s society related to light. Communication is the most important for production, and light and light speed are the optimal opportunity for a highest possible gross national product.
At the same time, light and ecology are a timeless symbiosis.
I visualize ideas as described here using a light medium. I have chosen neon and produce both objects, room installations and performative works where light, color and sound convey the concept.
