Øistad, Odin

Sculpture - Photography

Odin Øistad, born 1967 in Oslo.
Educated in Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo (4 years ) and Academy of fine arts in Firenze (6 years ). He studies continuously and for 30 years the secret geometry of artists since ancient up to contemporary times, mainly on the relationship between visual arts and music. He has been commissioned sculptures in bronze, photographs or huge outdoor stone installations in more than 40 countries. Among some of his works are the stone sculpture of the Norwegian composer Fartein Valen, and around 60 portraits in bronze of artists, musicians, writers and outstanding Norwegian figures, including of former minister Thorvald Stoltenberg. His big stone installation for Jotun AS headquarter (the famous Henning Larsen Architects), will be unveiled in 2019.
