Rørvik, Alette Schei

Photography

Alette Schei Rørvik is an artist and photographer, based in Oslo, Norway, which holds a BFA in Photography and a MFA in Arts from the Bergen National Academy of the Arts. Since then Rørvik has built herself a broad range of experience as both producer, coordinator and project manager within various forms of contemporary art, dance, film, fashion and theatre productions for different institutions, federations, groups and single initiatives. Rørvik is currently working from her studio in the collective CK2 Atelier with own artistic projects, as well as freelance photography work for a diversity of clients.

Rørvik works mainly with photography – often in combination with other media such as text, video, installation, performance. Her projects tend to appear seemingly documentary, and are usually driven by an autobiographical anchorage. The self-exploring starting point is something that has followed her, almost as a method, whether it’s concrete direct storytelling from her own life or as a subtle backdrop for more general themes.
