Zolcinska, Izabela

Drawing, embroidery, sculpture, installation including installations in public space

The universal goal of my work is an extended knowledge of the body. I’m interested in corporeality as a connection between organisms and inorganic matter. Particularly I interpret phenomena related to the migration of fluids. In previous projects I specified The Capillary System as a visual language. The emigration process to Norway has caused the focus on a connection between us and a water environment. This activated observation: that humanity invests more in research on outer space as a possible rescue plan than in the oceans, the site of our very first habitat and ”home”. Parallels between “outside” water and fluidity of our own body seem to be forgotten.
