Løberg, Morten

Photography

I have in my artistic practice over the years mainly concentrated on simplification or abstraction of very concrete subjects. My expression is thus based on photography’s documentary characteristics, but are often cropped sections of reality with an element of alienation.

Man is mainly absent in most of my work. I seek the core of the subject by peeling away all the frills. Although the elements that make up a picture are concrete, and not least real as in a landscape, I want simultaneously to reveal something about human experiences and vulnerability. This vision is a key focus in all my work.
