Eid, Martine

Painting and drawing

Painter Martine Eid creates frank depictions of the unfeigned and poses questions about the importance put upon facade and digital presentation. Her experience is that objectification is used and portrayed as female sexuality, strength and freedom, when the reality is that the forementioned excludes the latter.
“I am interested in the ‘momentary ugliness’ that is rarely captured, what we never see portrayed or glorified in the same way an over-posed bum would be.” -Martine Eid
