Dagnall, Rachel

Rachel Dagnall (b. 1972 in Liverpool) is a visual artist working predominantly with sculpture, drawing and film. She is currently also working as a freelance curator after a period of working at Kunsthall Oslo. She holds a Bachelor degree from the Department of Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art and a Master of Fine Art from The Art Academy in Oslo. From 2005 to 2007 she worked as an exhibition producer at the commercial gallery Standard Oslo and for Momentum III Nordic Biennial. From 2008 to 2012, she was the technical coordinator for the artist’s media resource and project space Atelier Nord in Oslo. From 2012 she has been working at the Kunsthall in Oslo’s newly developed Bjørvika district and until 2013 was also responsible for programming the Public Art program for the city’s central station including new commissions by David Shrigley, The Moen, Tegneklubben, Henrik Plenge Jakobsen as well as a comprehensive program of new performance art and sculpture for the city’s Annual Autumn Exhibition. In 2014 she was the curator for Oslo Open and the Bachelor Exhibition at the Art Academy in Oslo.
As an artist she has making public a range of sculpture and performance works for exhibitions and public commissions and has been part of the collaborative art group Henry VIII’s Wives since 1997.
